Innovation and Tech Transfer

I offer content writing for innovation and technology transfer publications and organizations.

Blog Posts/Articles

Blogs give your clients, customers, or stakeholders insight into what you have to offer. Blog posts help to bring people to your website, because search engines index each new post. Each post usually has a “call to action” that requires the visitor to share their contact information in return for a free item, such as a newsletter or white paper. With this information in hand, you know who has visited your website and how to reach them.

Articles are similar to the blog posts, but are typically published in custom publications or trade journals. Ideally, they will direct readers to your website for more information about your organization.

Newsletters

Some people think that social media has replaced newsletters. Not so. Newsletters remain an effective way for you to communicate with people who have shown an interest in your products or services.

Sample Newsletter:

For this newsletter, I came up with content ideas, conducted interviews, wrote content, sourced the photographs, and proofread.

Case Studies

A case study is a story about how your product or service helped a client or customer solve a problem.

White Papers

White papers use persuasion, facts, and figures for an in-depth description of a product or service. The intended audience is clients or other stakeholders who are in the information-seeking stage of their relationship with you. The tone is more formal than a brochure, but less formal than an academic paper. White papers are usually about 6-8 pages long.

Executive and Employee Profiles

How you describe executives and employees on your website says a lot about your company. Are you super-professional? Are you approachable? Are you zany? Bios written with an intention to project your company culture can make or break someone’s decision to do business with the people in your company.

Sample Profile:

I interviewed 13 UIDP members about transitioning from government, industry, and academic sectors and cowrote the articles, which appeared in their publication, U-I Connector Career Paths: Crossing Sectors, Creating Impact. You can read a sample article here.
